Mack Hackel is a Columbus-based designer and illustrator specializing in editorial design, poster design, and motion graphics. Currently a senior at Columbus College of Art & Design, she is completing her degree in Advertising and Graphic Design.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Mack's artistic journey began through her father's influence in art and architecture. A high school graphic design course ignited her passion and set her career trajectory.
At CCAD's student agency, Mack led the branding and execution of Chroma, the end-of-year art show. Her achievements include creating an animated motion graphic for the college's website and winning a CSCA award for short-form print design for Constellations.
Beyond design, Mack draws creative inspiration from her diverse interests. An avid reader with a particular fondness for mystery novels, she often incorporates elements of intrigue and narrative into her design work. Her love for cozy video games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley influences her aesthetic choices, bringing warmth and whimsy to her projects. This influence is particularly evident in her detailed Animal Crossing bug infographic, which combines her passion for gaming with her talent for information design.
These personal influences, combined with her technical expertise, allow Mack to create designs that are both professionally polished and authentically personal.
